It includes two turning ceramic knobs (one for each side of a single internal door), a solid 8 mm steel spindle, and a full set of fixing screws. Once installed, the knobs connect securely through the door via a traditional mortice turning mechanism, offering a reliable, smooth and reassuring turning action — far removed from wobbly or surface-screw fittings. These handles are suitable for regular use on internal doors such as bedrooms, hallways, lounges, and studies, offering both strength and grace in every detail. This set does not include a latch, but in most cases, customers can use the existing tubular mortice latch already installed in their door. These knobs are specifically designed to be compatible with standard 8 mm mortice latch systems, which are commonly found on UK internal doors. If your door already has a spindle-operated latch, no additional parts are usually required. Should you need a latch, a separate standard 60 mm or 70 mm tubular mortice latch can be sourced easily and fitted alongside. The fixing system is through-bolt based, meaning the knobs are joined firmly together by bolts that pass through the door, ensuring a tight and long-lasting hold. The ceramic knob is mounted on a brass base for added stability, and the rounded shape of the knob offers a comfortable, easy grip with a smooth turn that suits daily use. These knobs are designed primarily for internal doors in the UK with a standard door thickness between 35 and 45 mm. They are also compatible with solid wood, MDF, or engineered timber doors. While designed for UK interiors, many customers in Europe and the US have successfully fitted these knobs on their own doors. For European doors, customers are advised to check door thickness and confirm the spindle size matches the 8 mm requirement. In the US, some minor adaptation may be necessary, and fitting may benefit from the guidance of a carpenter or experienced DIYer. The turning spindle mechanism is not suitable for cabinet, cupboard, or drawer use, nor for external or front doors. Please note that this set does not include a bathroom lock mechanism.
